Coolant for free
Our subsea coolers efficiently cool topside facilities and equipment offshore. By using surrounding seawater as a natural coolant around a closed-loop system, they don’t need much power and don’t discharge chemicals into the sea.

The heat exchange with ​ambient seawater creates a natural draft that continuously brings in fresh, cooler water​, which adds to the cooling effect, alongside natural seawater currents. Proven over decades to work reliably and without intervention, typically at less than 20% of the OPEX of seawater lift pump cooling. Cooling duty ranges from 100kW to 50MW.

Keeping cool offshore

Passive cooling with seawater is an elegant, efficient solution to offshore cooling challenges - with a proven track record. Our subsea coolers reliably cool the power infrastructure growing offshore - from AC/DC converters and transformers to electrolysers:

  • Cooling substations. Cool topside substations (transformers, AC/DC converters) from the seafloor, reducing platform sizes and power needs
  • Cooling hydrogen production. Cool central hydrogen production off-platform



Fit and forget cooling
Refined over decades, our subsea coolers are optimised for self-sufficiency and a long, uninterrupted operating life under the sea. No rotating parts subsea and a reduced number of system components result in low power use and high availability. Performance mapping and size modelling based on test and operational data helps specify the right solution for each application.
